“The Health Center stands for something significant – hope, progress, a better future.”

– Lowell CHC Patient & Donor

Promoting health in and outside of the exam room

Lowell Community Health Center was founded in 1970 to make sure that everyone in Greater Lowell has access to quality and culturally responsive health care. Your gift will help us continue to honor the values of health equity and inclusion that inspired the Health Center movement more than five decades ago.

As an independent, 501(C)(3) nonprofit, we must raise 25% of our $70M+ annual budget through grants and individual donations. Your support makes all the difference by helping close the gap between what insurance pays for and what our patients need to get, and stay, healthy.

There are many ways you can make an impact. Visit here to learn how.

Narin’s Story

“To me. every case feels personal. I treat every patient like a family member.” Meet Narin, a Clinical Pharmacist in our Metta Health Center. Hear how she’s making a huge difference in the lives of our patients. Your gift to the Annual Fund makes life-changing work like this possible. Give Now.

Insurance covers less than two-thirds of our patients’ cost per visit cost. And we provide many unreimbursed wraparound services — including medical interpretation, home visits, and making sure our patients have food on the table, warm clothes, and safe housing.

Your gift today helps us close that gap and continue to care for patient needs with services like:

  • Health insurance counseling
  • Medical interpreters
  • Referrals to housing, food assistance, and other resources
  • Health screenings and education in community settings
  • In-person and virtual support groups

The harsh reality is that none of these vital services are covered by insurance – but are utilized by an estimated 75% or more of our patients.

Compassion & Impact

Read about how your support enables us to provide high quality medical care to all patients who come through our doors – and our most urgent 2022 funding needs.

“You treat me like I really matter. I am alive because of you all here at Lowell CHC.”

“Why do I give? The Health Center is the heart and soul of our community.”

– Lowell CHC Donor

Your Donation’s Impact

  • $25 – Transportation assistance to medical appointments for patients in need
  • $50 – Medical interpretation so that patients can communicate directly with their provider
  • $150 – The Gift of Sight – eyeglasses for a patient without vision insurance
  • $500 – Personalized care management for a homebound patient with diabetes
  • $1000 – Dentures for a senior on a fixed income
