A Doctor of Optometry (OD) is a physician who examines, diagnoses, treats, and counsels patients regarding eye diseases and disorders. An OD can prescribe medications, vision therapy, glasses, and contact lenses, and perform some surgical procedures.

Originally from Ventura, CA, Dr. Kaplan completed a residency in Community Health Optometry at DotHouse Health Clinic in 2021. After residency, Dr. Kaplan worked at a private practice for a year before deciding to come back to community health optometry. Her special interest areas include pediatric optometry, ocular disease, and dry eye. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
In her free time she enjoys crocheting, hiking, travelling, pottery, and coming up with silly nicknames for her pet cat Morris.
